At the Editor’s Showcase held at New York’s Marriott Hotel, I went straight to the Arnicare pain reliever booth. Boiron produces homeopathic remedies, which I’ve used over the years, but I didn’t know about the Jet Lag Relief Care Pack, which fights nausea, stiffness, muscle pain and drowsiness — the byproduct of what we feel frequently when airlines don’t (or can’t) pressurize their cabins to sea level.
The products there were at the booth: Arnicare Gel, which I’ve used on my knees after riding in a Zodiac for nearly three hours. I didn’t know about a Leg Pain Relief Care Pack or Calendula Cream known for its wound-healing properties. I’ll use those for shoe blisters — I’m bound to get those during my forthcoming trips.(BoironUSA.com)
The Tetley Tea Company has come out with super herbal immunity-building teas. Tetley master blenders have blended a peach and orange infusion with vitamin C to help support my immune system without the caffeine jitters, and the smooth green tea combined with lemon, vitamin C and honey also supports the immune system. The line features six flavors, including black tea with sweet vanilla, blueberry and raspberry infusion combined with vitamin B6 and tropical green tea fused with mango, pineapple and vitamin B6.
There’s no need to shop for fish elsewhere when great tasting fish is in my backyard. True North brings Atlantic salmon from Maine and Washington State, Atlantic sea scallops from the Carolinas and Virginia, shrimp from the Carolinas and sockeye salmon from Alaska. I was among the editors coming back for more delicious samples of salmon cooked to perfection at the show. (Truenorthseafood.com)
So many products boast “natural,” yet, as my doctor told me many years ago, “lightening is natural, but if it strikes you it’s harmful!”
The next product I sampled was healthy in every way, shape and form. PRE, 100% grass fed beef can be found in the fresh meat cooler at select grocery stores and fresh grocery delivery services. Sourced from Australia and New Zealand – the healthiest, most nutrient dense grass countries year round – the beef products are chemical free, hormone and antibiotic free. (Now that’s good thing.) Various fat contents and weights are labeled on the steaks, ground beef, burger patties and roasts.
Using the 95% lean ground beef, I made meatballs in tomato sauce, a recipe passed down from my grandmother, which I hadn’t done for decades. The result was fabulous and my friends didn’t stop eating them. To determine whether or not the meatball success had to do with the meat or my cooking, a few days later, I grilled the filet mignon. It was tasty, tender and scrumptious. I concluded it was the meat. (PREFood.com)

There are several ways to cook sweet potatoes. Once the skins are scrubbed, I bake ‘em and eat them plain – and they take the place of needing an after meal sweet. Sweet potatoes can be microwaved, steamed, boiled, sautéed, fried or grilled. Any way they make my toes curl. They’re nature’s super food and contain antioxidants, vitamin A and C, fiber, potassium and they’re a low glycemic food, which means they actually manage blood sugar. The State commissions and councils of Alabama, California, Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina ensure food safety and environmental accountability. Visit sweetpotatousa.org to find a host of delightful, delicious sweet potato recipes.

Many other products were featured at the Editor’s Showcase. My focus was on food, however, in addition to Burt’s Bees, which has a line of skin care, lip balm (I use Blistex all the time) and gentle, effective face care guide that cleanses, treats, moisturizes and enhances, Burt’s Bees introduced a collection of delicious plant-based protein shakes this year, allowing you to simply drink or craft recipes with all the benefits of nature’s most powerful ingredients. As the products are non-GMO, gluten free, soy free and dairy free – the three formulas (Protein Daily, +Gut Health and +Healthy Radiance) can help achieve the right balance of nutrition for all bodies and lifestyles. I can’t take the shakes with me but the Burt’s Bees facial cleansing towelettes removes makeup and tones in one step and Blistex will go with me for my forthcoming trip to Poland and then on to South Korea.
